"JOE BROTHERTON"


Joe Brotherton Joseph was born in Nashville, TN, moving to the Tampa Bay, FL area in 87'. Playing trumpet from age eight, he developed a profound love for music and in particular, the trumpet. Joe graduated high school in 92' from the PCCA in St. Petersburg. After college in Indiana, he joined the United States Marine Corps as a trumpet player. After 4 years of service, Joe left the Corps as an E-5 Sergeant with a Navy Achievement and a National Service medal and moved to Washington, DC to continue studying with renowned artists and pursue a career as a free-lance musician. Currently, enjoying life and staying very busy performing everything from jazz, 'lead' trumpet, R&B, salsa, gospel, sectional work, studio, fusion to classical, and giving instructional lessons to all age groups.

Recent live recordings, performances and tours have been with the Joe Brotherton Quartet, Cricket Fusion, Blues Styles Brass Band, CHRISTOS (reggae artist), Eme and Heteru (afro-roots music), The Mustangs (classic R&B-- www.mustangsband.com ), the late great Ricky Loza, the Archives (Theivery Corporation), Orchestra Projecto de Verny Varela, Greg Karukas, La Leyenda (Latin big band & small group), and the Brotherton Quintet. He has also appeared on radio, television, music magazines and newspapers throughout Washington, DC, New Orleans, Central America, Italy and Brazil.

Joe is a diverse musician regularly performing many genres of music, giving instruction, and booking musical performances.
